Hydrogen Sulfide Scavenger
Hydrogen Sulfide H2S Scavenger (CI-4000) is formulated blend of filming amines, volatile neutralizing amines and synergists and is used to prevent or decrease corrosion in systems where hydrogen sulfide is the primary corrodent. Volatile neutralizing amines provide for modifications of the corrosive environment by reacting with acid gases such as hydrogen sulfide and carbon dioxide and converting them to water soluble salts, effectively removing them from the gas systems.
Filming amines provide corrosion protection at liquid: metal interfaces by forming protective layers of complex; molecular composition on the metal surfaces.
CI-4000 can be used in scrubbers to buffer the liquid solutions and to provide protection of the vessel walls. Since exaggerated corrosion in scrubbers can occur due to reaction of traces of oxygen with sulfides to form sulfuric acid, this treatment can help catalytically remove oxygen and buffer the pH to a less corrosive regime.
